Posted this on my blog today @ www.jasoncurlee.com and thought it might be an encouragement to you.
I can because He made me.
I don’t doubt or hesitate.
I push forward.
I walk over obstacles.
Fear…there is none.
Joy…is overflowing.
I’m in my groove.
My zone is His will.
I don’t wonder if I can.
I don’t think I can.
It’s not because “I” say I can.
Because He made me…I CAN

This Sunday was a great day for us at the 5 Points campus. I posted a slideshow of the pics from the day at my blog in a post called Sunday 9-21-08 Pictures.
We hosted our second membership class and had seven attend with six filling out their membership cards. Membership is a commitment from some how is attending to move to someone who is committed to making it happen here.
We had several first time guests and three people prayed to begin a relationship with Christ.

I know many of you out there have come and have bought in. I know there are many others that are wondering maybe where they fit in. I thought I would encourage all of you tonight and let you know what it’s going to take to continue to reach our area..
In the two primary zip codes in the 5 Points area there are over 50,000 people. We believe that at least half don’t attend any church. I would actually estimate about 65% of that number don’t attend church. That means potentially 25,000 to 30,000 people have possibly not heard the message of the Gospel.
One of the reasons God has this campus here and the many of you that live in the 5 Points area is to be a light to this community. That is why the 5 Points campus is so important. It’s not important just so we can save gas and time since it may be right around the corner from where we live. God reaches people through people and that is the reason for all of this.
To reach this area it is going to take:
1) Serving – Pastor Bil said it so well Sunday night. It takes us all doing our part and when one of us decides not to show up and serve it is felt. Let me go on to say that we will never reach our full potential unless people like you get involved in reaching this community. There are so many areas. If we can get a stable core of volunteers on Sunday in all areas we can begin to branch out in so many ways.
2) Reaching Out – I want to reiterate…our campus is here to make it easier for you to reach your friends, family and the many people of this community. I want to encourage you to begin to pray over 5 people who you want to see come to Christ through our campus and then look for opportunities to invite them. I believe God will honor your heart cry.
3) Giving – For those that may not understand just yet…even though our campus is a campus of Bay Area Fellowship…our campus stands on its own financially. It’s support comes from those that attend and give. It is awesome to know that God allows us to partner with Him through our finances to reach our area and blesses us in return. You can give to our campus each sunday or even online at BayAreaFellowship.com

This weekend marks our next membership class. MEMBERSHIP 101 is our membership class. People who attend the class don’t have to become a member, but a person cannot become a member of Bay Area Fellowship without taking MEMBERSHIP 101.
Although being a member doesn’t hold any special priviledges it does show your level of commitment to the vision of Bay Area Fellowship and to helping change our community.
Join us Sunday, September 14th at 12:45 pm following the 11:30 experience right here at the 5 Points campus.

As of tonight our plans for the weekend are still on. We will know more by Wednesday night and will make more of a determination. I’m believing that God has this weekend destined for the 5 Points area and nothing is going to stand in our way. Let’s all pray and believe for big things.
Pastor Bil put out a message today on his blog http://bilcornelius.typepad.com
Make sure you keep an eye on his blog for updates…you can also stay informed on our campus blog as well http://bayarea5points.wordpress.com/
Here’s what Pastor Bil said
Everyone is calling our office or emailing us asking what we are going to do about Hurricane Ike heading our way. Right now the answer is to stay put, pray, and prepare. We are doing what everyone else is doing: stocking up on water and batteries, preparing to board up our homes if necessary, and waiting to see if it turns or not. As we know more, I will give you a blog by blog update. As far as church for this weekend, everything is scheduled as planned until we have confirmation from the weather service that Ike is heading our way. Pray, and stay tuned….
