Saturday Workday

This weekend we are hosting a campus work day from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. We will be preparing our campus for our Harvest Fest next Sunday.

We will be working on:

  • painting kitchen & cleaning it
  • creating our games for the event (carnival style)
  • cleaning-mopping, sweeping, dusting, and windows
  • finalizing details for event
  • painting in kidz blue room
  • finishing the green room
  • lawn work

We want our campus to look it’s very best for our guests. If you can help a few hours that would be great!!!!!!!! This is a great opportunity to get involved. It is the best investment of time and one that never returns void.

We’ll have flyer’s available to pass out that day as well. Let’s canvas our community with an invitation to experience BAF at it’s best.

Harvest Fest Needs You

Hey 5 Points Family,

November 16th is an awesome time to serve our community. It is our 1st Annual Harvest Festival. The exciting part about this event it is that not only are we going to reach out to the children and families in our area, BUT we are going to utilize this event to partner with one of the local elementary schools who are in need of up-grading their playground. So we are allowing the Calallen East Primary PTA to come in and do the food booths for our Festival and all the proceeds will go to the elementary.

The exciting thing about doing this is that they are going to give all their students in the Calallen district who are in elementary a flyer to our event. We are also working on getting flyer’s in two other school districts.

We are working hard to create an exciting event and it is going to take us as a campus to make it happen. You need to volunteer to make sure our campus shines. Can one day make a difference in our community? Yes. Could one afternoon of your time make the difference in the life of a child? Yes.

As I said this is not only a great way to reach the families of our area but a great way to help one of the schools in our area.

What I’m asking is that if attend the 5 Points campus and believe in what we are doing to reach our area and that if you believe in reaching the children in our area then you need to volunteer to make this event as exciting as possible.

Send me an email letting me know that you are going to help us in any way. Please don’t hit reply as it doesn’t come back to me…send an email to my email address at pastorjcurl{at}gmail{dot}com

Our Next Membership Class

This weekend marks our next membership class. MEMBERSHIP 101 is our membership class. People who attend the class don’t have to become a member, but a person cannot become a member of Bay Area Fellowship without taking MEMBERSHIP 101.

Although being a member doesn’t hold any special privileges it does show your level of commitment to the vision of Bay Area Fellowship and to helping change our community.

Join us Sunday, November 9th at 12:45 pm following the 11:30 experience right here at the 5 Points campus.

Video Challenge From Pastor Bil

And A Note From Him As Well:

I am at the National Outreach Convention talking about reaching out to your community, while our church prepares to do just that! I want to put a challenge out to everyone at Bay Area. THIS IS THE TIME TO STEP UP! So many churches talk about evangelism, about reaching out, but so few ever target a date, pray specifically for their friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family, and then actually bring them to church!

Please don’t make excuses as to why you can’t make it this weekend. If you had had tickets to the Cowboys’ game (or your favorite team), it’s amazing how you would suddenly have the time and priority to figure out how to get there on time, with traffic, and you’d even pay to park!

Please don’t make excuses as to why you didn’t try to bring someone…no excuses will matter in eternity.

Please don’t be frustrated about being asked to bring someone and show that you care about the lost of our community. If you don’t get why I’m challenging you, then you have been saved too long…long enough to forget what it’s like to have no one to pray to, no one to offer you forgiveness and freedom, no prospects of a secured eternity, and no peace of mind. Never forget the salvation we have…the best and most constant reminder is to bring someone this weekend, see their eyes light up, silently pray for them like crazy during the message and during the invitation, and watch as they accept Christ, securing their place in Heaven, and leaving with the joy to know you had a part in that process.

At the end of the day I know our church is full of caring and compassionate people but we must make the connection that being caring and compassionate means reaching out to the un-saved.

All that said, please bring someone this weekend.

Sincerely,

Bil Cornelius

Life Beyond Limits
Everyone is frustrated in some area of his or her life. No one likes to be limited; whether it is limited income, limited time, or simply feeling like you could do more with your life. Join us this weekend at BAF 5 Points as Bil Cornelius teaches us how to remove the barriers holding us back so we can experience a life beyond limits.

I posted a slide show of the pictures from our first children/baby dedication over on my blog.  Check out “Our First Children Dedications“.

Guests Are Coming

Every Sunday hundreds of thousands of people around the world will visit a church for the first time ever…or maybe even the first time in a very long time. In fact, each week that is one thing you can count on at the 5 Points Campus. Each week we have families that are looking for a church or who have been invited and are there as our guests.

This takes a mind-shift for all of us. In fact, this is where our whole campus needs to take a shift.  Whether you are a musician, greeter, children’s worker, sound tech, parking…in fact, no matter what you do at our campus, even if you come and just enjoy our environment, you must realize that we must put our best for all of our guests.

At our home if someone were to just drop by they would probably not even know that it were dirty because we keep it pretty clean.  But when we know we are going to have guests all of us get involved in making our home ready for them.

How many of you, when you know that guests are coming over, go the extra mile to clean your house?  If you are like us, you go all out…everything is vacuumed, scrubbed, mowed, edged…if you are serving food you probably make us the good dishes that you only use if guests are coming.  And especially the bathroom is cleaned.  Why do you do this???  Because your guests matter to you.

That is what all of us need to realize.  Every Sunday morning the most important people are those who are there for the first time.  If you have been at the campus for any amount of time take a few minutes and look for someone you don’t know and introduce yourself and make them feel welcome.  If you are one of the ones that are truly making it happen realize that each Sunday guests are coming and let’s do whatever it takes to make them welcome.

Look for more posts coming this week on this topic.
