Christmas ARK Project

This Christmas we are partnering with a local organization to our area that takes in children pulled from their home by the state. Our idea is to give these kids and the organization a Christmas they hopefully won’t forget.

Could you imagine being taken out of your home for whatever reason during this time?

You can partner with us as well….right now the easiest way if you are not in our own BAF 5 Points campus is to mail a check or money order to:

BAF 5 Points
P.O. Box 260660
Corpus Christi, TX 78426-0660

Label it Christmas Project

How much????? That’s totally up to you. What we are believing for is the ability to give every child two or three toys…and maybe purchase them an outfit and/or small suitcase.

At a max this organization could have up to 37 children of various ages and sex. We won’t know until the last minute.

This is purely about giving…we know these kids won’t be coming to our church the next weekend or ever. What we know is that we are about serving our community and being a resource to it.

If you are home to the 5 Points Campus make sure you check out the list of items to buy.

Give a gift to our Christmas Project and partner with us to serve these children in this time.

Harvest Festival Thank You

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all those who made our Harvest Festival a massive huge success. Our estimate is that between 400 and 500 people were there tonight. The event was well planned and staffed. Kudos to Robbie, Dee, and Stacia for all their planning.

We were able to help two organizations tonight…the Calallen East Primary PTA and the Tuloso Midway National Junior Honor Society.

Awesome Job Everyone…

Keep on the lookout for pictures coming soon.

Saturday Workday

This weekend we are hosting a campus work day from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. We will be preparing our campus for our Harvest Fest next Sunday.

We will be working on:

  • painting kitchen & cleaning it
  • creating our games for the event (carnival style)
  • cleaning-mopping, sweeping, dusting, and windows
  • finalizing details for event
  • painting in kidz blue room
  • finishing the green room
  • lawn work

We want our campus to look it’s very best for our guests. If you can help a few hours that would be great!!!!!!!! This is a great opportunity to get involved. It is the best investment of time and one that never returns void.

We’ll have flyer’s available to pass out that day as well. Let’s canvas our community with an invitation to experience BAF at it’s best.

Harvest Fest Needs You

Hey 5 Points Family,

November 16th is an awesome time to serve our community. It is our 1st Annual Harvest Festival. The exciting part about this event it is that not only are we going to reach out to the children and families in our area, BUT we are going to utilize this event to partner with one of the local elementary schools who are in need of up-grading their playground. So we are allowing the Calallen East Primary PTA to come in and do the food booths for our Festival and all the proceeds will go to the elementary.

The exciting thing about doing this is that they are going to give all their students in the Calallen district who are in elementary a flyer to our event. We are also working on getting flyer’s in two other school districts.

We are working hard to create an exciting event and it is going to take us as a campus to make it happen. You need to volunteer to make sure our campus shines. Can one day make a difference in our community? Yes. Could one afternoon of your time make the difference in the life of a child? Yes.

As I said this is not only a great way to reach the families of our area but a great way to help one of the schools in our area.

What I’m asking is that if attend the 5 Points campus and believe in what we are doing to reach our area and that if you believe in reaching the children in our area then you need to volunteer to make this event as exciting as possible.

Send me an email letting me know that you are going to help us in any way. Please don’t hit reply as it doesn’t come back to me…send an email to my email address at pastorjcurl{at}gmail{dot}com

Children/Baby Dedication

This Sunday, Nov. 2nd we will be having our first Children/Baby Dedication during the 11:30 experience.  This is a great time for you to dedicate your child.  It is also a declaration that you are going to bring them up to follow Christ.

One Scripture we believe is key to God’s call to us to raise our children is:

Deuteronomy 6:4-7 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

We see in this Scripture is:  First, it commands parents to love God; if they truly wish for their child to one day love and follow God, their lives must be an example.  Second, Deuteronomy makes clear that the duty of teaching children belongs to parents; Church can provide weekly instruction, but parents must seize the teachable moments that arise throughout life.

If you want to dedicate your child or children please sign in at the Children’s Desk @ 11:15 to let us know…we will be doing the dedications after our fourth song.

Baptism Blowout

What a great day today…FOOD, FUN, and BAPTISMS.

We decided that for our first day of baptisms we would do it with a tailgate party. So we put up football on our big screen…people grilled…we had a Guitar Hero tournament…and to boot we had the first baptisms for our campus.

Three people today were baptized…OUTSTANDING!!!!!
